Wooo – big surprise here, check out the following pictures:
Thar be oil in the combustion chamber! That is _NOT_ Good!
Good thing I purchased a set of new pistons and cylinders.
We will see what else comes up…

Links to the first day of the engine teardown:
So I have been trying to figure out where all the vacuum hoses are supposed to go.
After figuring it out thanks to this:

I was able to get the engine running properly….sorta:
It needs to be adjusted, the timing is off and it idles weird, also there is black smoke coming out of the exhaust under load.
After the engine heats up there is LOTS, and I mean LOTS of white smoke that comes from everywhere:
After looking closely I was able to see that I am dripping oil from the Valve cover onto the exhaust and it is burning there.
After much consideration I have decided to drop the engine and do a partial rebuild and inspect everything to make sure it is up to par.
Cleaned up the interior a week or so ago, trying to see the scope of the work needed.
Took apart the rear left drum to have a look at the source of a brake fluid leak.
Found a bad Cylinder…Will have to wait till monday to get the parts so for now I am just putting the metals through some rust treatments to clean them up.
Brought the it home today, took it to a local car wash to give it a quick wash and get some layers of dirt off it.
Anyway, here are some pics:
Right off the bat things that will need to be done:
Tune Up (pretty much replace anything in the engine that looks worn), Oil Change, etc.
Nice Detailing job, to make it shine.
I just picked this up, mostly as a trade for a favor.
I figured I might work on this and see if I can bring life back into it:

Welcome to my blog!
Basically I will use this to keep track of my own projects and update all of those interested on what I am working on.
